The Founder
Dave Mowatt founded Potomac Valley Surveys in 2004 after years of surveying experience in the Washington Metropolitan area. As the original owner, he built the firm into a trusted name known for quality, reliability, and responsive service to clients ranging from local governments and school systems to commercial developers and private property owners. His leadership created the strong foundation on which the company continues to operate today.
Robert Walker
The New Owner
In December 2025, Robert Walker acquired Potomac Valley Surveys, LLC and now serves as President. A licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Maryland and Delaware, he brings over twenty years of industry experience and a strong commitment to continuing the firm’s tradition of excellence while driving growth and innovation.

Christie Maisel is a licensed Landscape Architect who joined Potomac Valley Surveys in 2012. As our residential site designer and permitting specialist, her expertise ensures smooth navigation of zoning, stormwater, and permitting requirements for our clients.

Shane Green is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor who leads our survey operations. With over ten years at Potomac Valley Surveys, he specializes in boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
